Everywhere there's money, few doubt it's gonna last,
We've got a debt tsunami, racing toward each coast,
Full faith and trust in government,
Is looking like it's toast,
We got the poor house on the left,
The good life on the right,
The middle class is fading fast, and trouble is in sight

This deficit infection, is feeling mighty sore,
As we sandbag for inflation, that's creeping to our door,
Our course is pathalogical, the outlook growing bleak,

Spending's on a rampage, restraint is dead to rights,
We've got to have it all right now,

This is the kind of thinking, that got us into this mess,
Responsible Americans are living in distress

We know money runs the government,
In the name of help the poor,
But don't be bending over, Uncle Sam is near the door,
He says inflation rates are low,
And everything's just fine,
But what I see when I pay out,
Goes up more all the time,
The middle class is fading fast, and trouble is in sight
